African Diaspora is the term commonly used to describe the mass dispersion of peoples from Africa during the Transatlantic Slave Trades, from the 1500s to the 1800s. This Diaspora took millions of people from Western and Central Africa to diﬀerent regions throughout the Americas and the Caribbean.
Because we focus on travel throughout the African Diaspora, we travel to countries within Africa, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.
While we limit our scope to these regions, we recognize that today the African Diaspora spans the globe with large populations of people of African descent across all six continents.
No! The mission of Jet Black is to encourage tourism to countries in the African diaspora, in order to change the narrative about these countries, and in our small way to increase economic development in these countries. So while you do not need to be black to travel with Jet Black we will be traveling to “black” countries.

Having traveled with groups large and small to various countries around the world, our founder, Jessica Nabongo, determined that ten is the magic number that allows travelers to meet new people and enjoy group activities, while being able to also experience intimate deep immersion into local cultures.
When planning private trips, it is best to reach out a minimum of a month and a half in advance of your trip. All trips must be paid in full 30 days out. The most ideal amount of lead time is three months.
